Some Acne Myths The truth about caring for acne.
Poor hygiene causes and worsens acne.
According to a study by Stanford University in
a study where randomly selected participants
washed their faces once, twice, or 4 times a day
for 6 weeks, did not significatly change the
appearance, or the change in condition of acne was minimal
at best. Dermatologist's recommend washing your
face twice daily to maintain good skin health.
Exercise can clear acne or exercise can worsen acne
Stanford university conducted a study on exercise. Three groups
were assigned to have no exercise, regular exercise
with immediate showering, and regular exercise followed
by delayed showering. It was reported that the number of
acne lesions on the chest and back were counted over a two
week period an it was reported that ther was no difference.
Regular exercise can be encouraged for patients who have acne,
yet the research does not support either statement.

If tight fitting clothing is required, clean it on a regular basis.
